Shelley and Chad’s Wedding
Posted on February 2, 2010
I had a great time shooting Shelley and Chads wedding. Shelley got ready at the Magnolia Hotel which I love for al it’s quirky little nooks. The ceremony was in 1st United Methodist Church’s beautiful downtown sanctuary. It was very warm and featured old wood and huge stained glass windows. The reception was at the prestigious Petroleum Club on the 43rd floor of the ExxonMobil Building. The view was amazing just like the rest of the evening. Here are my favorites.

Taryn and Kenneth’s Wedding
Posted on January 22, 2010
Taryn and Kenneth’s wedding was really, really sweet. I have never heard more nice things or seen more love shared then with this couple and their families. It was really quite moving for me. The entire event was at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in downtown Houston. Everyone seemed to have a great time and everyone loved the BBQ from Rudy’s. Here are my favorite pics!

I hadn’t met either Kimberly or Daniel until this session but they got comfortable with the camera and I pretty fast and we got some great shots. It was a perfect evening in Discovery Green Park downtown. With the kids playing and the trees showing their colors we couldnt have asked for a better setting. Here are my faovrites!

Taryn’s Bridals
Posted on December 23, 2009
Taryn is a great model and made this shoot really easy on me. We had a lot of fun together in the Empire Room at the Crystal Ballroom in the Old Rice Hotel. I shot her and Kenneth’s wedding last Saturday and it was a beautiful event. These are my favorites from her bridals.

Taryn and Kenneth’s Engagements

It was a chilly day downtown, but I pulled up my collar to brave the cold. Taryn and Kenneth didn’t however. They had to look good for the pics so no coats for them… only their love to keep them warm. aawwwww
and it did and they looked great. Then we ate really spicy food together at Cabo with a margarita and that was the perfect way to end it. Here are my favorites

Anna’s Bridals
Posted on December 9, 2009
I didn’t get to meet Anna until the day of this shoot. She is a helicopter pilot in the Navy and doesn’t live here in the great city of Houston. We had a lot of fun, as you will see, and I was quite pleased with the resutls! Here are my favorites.

I love this one… the flowers seated so elegantly and all

Adam is a crack veil tosser but the wind was contrary

A little fresco for ya

I was setting up for the first shot by the fireplace when Anna just appeared out of no where. I almost canceled the shoot after changing my pants but she promised not curse me

This girl has friends in high places!

They were at the museum in the gem hall. He looked deep into her eyes and realized he loved her…
That is really how it happened and that is why we started the shoot in the gem hall at the museum. Also Chad is a firefighter so we finished there.

This is where is happened, The part about him looking into her eyes and stuff

Amy and John’s Lake Travis Wedding
Posted on December 4, 2009
It was a great party…
Amy and John chose the Vintage Villas on Lake Travis to preform their nuptials. It was a gorgeous day with a gorgeous bride and gorgeous brides maids and…
John, who looked very handsome himself
The ceremony was set in a green space overlooking the lake, and with the sun setting, a guitar and violin brought that loving feeling back to everyone. Here are my favorites.

The Wedding Photographer Gets Engaged!
Posted on November 13, 2009
So everyone has been asking to hear the story and of course to see the ring. So here it goes with Carrie saying to tell it well
We decided to get married and started planning our wedding in September to take place on the 20th day of November in the year of our Lord 2000 & 9. Great right! Yaaaaay! But I hadn’t been saving for a ring so didnt even ask her then. I just told Carrie that I would try to get her the best ring that I could and started saving then and there. Well over the last two months I had convinced her that I didnt know if I would be able to get her anything other than a little solitaire or maybe even just a wedding band! But that didnt matter. She evidently just loves me to the point where none of that mattered and she just wanted to marry me…. ATTENTION SINGLE GUYS you are looking for a girl like this, you just may not know it yet and that tips for free. Although, there will be a donate button at the end of this post for those so included to pay into good advice. But I digress. So time was running out and I actually didnt really know if I was going to have the money or not so I was wise to manage her expectations. The good news was I had been blessed with a lot of side photography shooting houses for real estate. That was bringing home the bacon but I was still at a loss for where to purchase the ring.
I knew what I wanted to get but there were many 0’s involved. I needed a good deal. So a week and a half ago I prayed and asked the Lord to show me where to get the ring and to please provide a great deal… and He did. The very next day all the pieces came together having met the right person completely randomly and began the process of having the ring made. I designed it and put the money down. Well I picked up the ring on wednesday the 11 and knew I was giving it to her right away! She had waited long enough and still wondered if she was even getting a ring or a proposal. Carrie sings at 1st Presbyterian Church on Main St. and has rehearsal wednesday nights so I had time to scheme a little after I got off work. Around 7:45 she texted me that she as leaving practice at 8:30 and going to Whole Foods to get us a chicken for dinner and I thought here is my chance.
I hopped in the car and rushed to Whole Foods where I told the manager that I wanted to propose to my girl there and she was excited to help me out. So the plan was put in motion and I went to buy some flowers and the florist hooked me up big time. Huge beautiful fall bouquet with two different kinds of roses and some blue cactus looking things. Honestly, I know most flowers but dont known what these even are. Anyway, she calls me on her way and is like “Hi baby, what are you doing?” to which I think OOOOH CRAP, but somehow out of my mouth comes, “Oh, I am in a hurry to get to the hospital to see Jeff (a groomsman who needs your prayers by the way) and decided just to meet you at Whole Foods so that I could see you for a few minutes before I had to go.” Yeah, nice. She is all “That so sweet”. So I meet her in the parking lot with the flowers and apologize that it had been a while since I had gotten her any and she was very surprised. So we go in and shop like usual, us being the healthy eaters we are, and I keep real cool. Act like I am tired and dont really want to be there. Tell her we cant get certain things that are bad for us as usual and proceed to the check out. We look at the Nat Geo mag about the Holy Land while the checker scans our items and then he says “Hey, Check out this calendar we are selling” and distracts her just at the Guest Services guy comes around the corner and says “Sir, I think you forgot this item.” I said “oh, yes, thank you” and he hands me the box with the ring inside. I turn to Carrie and get down on one knee and open the box. Tears and Tears she cries. Everything was a blur at this point but I know I said something to the effect of “Baby, I know that everything is paid for and the wedding is next week but I stilled wanted to know if you would marry me.” Well, with everything all ready paid for she said yes! And we hugged and after a few minutes I was like… “well, dont you want to put it on?” and she did and it fit and everyone in the store clapped and congratulated us and the rest is history. Here are the pics the manager of Whole Foods was kind enough to take for us and then a ring shot I took today. Thanks for reading.
