Ceremony: Second Baptist
Reception: Intercontinental Hotel
Bridal Consultant: Schwartz-Woodward
Florist: Events in Bloom
Cake: Who Made the Cake?
Band: The Pictures
Video: A&A
Q. What was your favorite memory of the day?
Megan: Walking down the aisle and seeing Trav’s face when I got up there. Also the band was awesome and we definitely got our dance on.
Travis: Seeing Megan when the doors first open and when I crowd surfed to “Don’t stop believing”.
Q. What was your favorite detail?
Megan: The photobooth was a big hit.
Travis: My UT basketball shoe groom’s cake.
Q. Do you have any advice for future brides and grooms on the big day?
Megan: Try to relax before you walk down the aisle and just be excited not nervous. Just enjoy yourself at the reception and try to take in every detail of the night that you can because it goes by fast.
Travis: Do something to clear your mind before you go to the church, I went for a long run. Insist on eating some of the food at the reception.
Q. Funniest moment from your wedding day?
Megan: When a family friend handed us Patron shots and limes right before we cut the cake.
Travis: When my friend Jon conducted his “traffic cop” dance in the middle of the dance floor wearing props from the photobooth.
Q. Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?
Megan: I would sit down and eat some of the food and I would remember to touch up my make-up at least once during the night because I was definitely sweaty after dancing. Other than that it was absolutely perfect!
Travis: I would eat the food and pay for an extra hour for the band to keep playing so we could keep dancing.
Q. What was your favorite purchase for the big day?
Megan: We used one of the most expensive florists in Houston but it was so worth it because it looked gorgeous and it was exactly how I pictured it.
Travis: The band. They were awesome.
Q. Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Hawaii, Maui and Lanai
Q. Is there anything else you would like to share?
Adam was the best photographer ever!!! So creative!
Megan and Travis: Thank you for letting me be a part of your amazing wedding! The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was a blast, and your love and personality showed throughout the entire event! Enjoy your photos!

Mahsa and Mehran’s Wedding
Posted on August 10, 2010
You may remember Mahsa and Mehrans awesome engagement session, or her smokin’ bridals. Well, if you liked those two sessions, their wedding will not disappoint! It was a gorgeous, fun, and personality-filled wedding at the Four Seasons, Downtown. Kristin Cogan of Keely Thorne Events made sure everything went perfectly, and River Oaks Plant House made sure every thing looked gorgeous! Mahsa and Mehran are friends of my awesome previous clients, Lindsey and Hooman and Minou and Josh. Enjoy some of my favorite images from the day, and feel free to leave a comment if you like what you see!

Kristin Daniell did an amazing job on Mahsa’s makeup.

This post has not one, but TWO shoe shots! Blake’s below:

And mine:

About to do the First Look!

When do you know you have awesome clients? After the first look, Mahsa and Mehran insisted we partake in celebratory tequila shots with them! I can’t say no to a client! (It wasn’t just us; the crew from 31 Films participated in the revelry as well).

The Sofreye is an important component of a Persian wedding ceremony. Every item on it has meaning. The decor for their Sofreye was flown in from L.A., and was one of the most gorgeous I’ve ever seen.

I love this shot that Blake grabbed of the father/daughter dance.

Can you feel the emotion at this wedding???

Love love love.

Christy and Kyle’s Wedding – Crested Butte, Colorado
Posted on July 28, 2010
Many of you know Kyle. He’s been working with me for the better part of a year, helping out with studio management and making the slideshow magic happen at weddings. Well on June 19th his own wedding rolled around and I had the honor of shooting it! Christy and Kyle are a very fun couple, with very funny and quirky personalities! When they told me about their destination wedding in a tiny Colorado town, and the ceremony on top of a mountain, I was super excited! Without further ado, here are some of my faves from the day. Please leave a COMMENT for Kyle and Christy if you like their photos!

Behold, the town of Crested Butte.

Kyle and Christy were married at almost 10,000 feet. How cool is that?

After their wedding we spent a couple hours in the harsh afternoon sun taking some portraits. We were hot, dusty, and sweaty, but it was worth it!

LOVE the shot on the left.

Oh, and this one on the left too. Personal fave!

Did I mention they were quirky? The cemetery shoot was by request.
I’m telling them to order this as a giant gallery wrap.

Off to the reception!

Don’t forget to watch the slideshow if you want to see more!
Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your gorgeous wedding, Christy and Kyle!

Michele and Eric’s Wedding
Posted on June 25, 2010
I had the honor of shooting Michele and Eric’s beautiful wedding at Hotel Icon back in May. Michele has an amazing sense of style, and her planner, Keely Thorne, made sure everything came together perfectly. Michele and Eric’s personalities really showed in all the details! Below are a few of my favorites from the day!

I love these whimsical hats that the bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids wore!

Meet Eric, who hates getting his picture taken, but I think he’s looking pretty suave, don’t you?

Their “first look”.

Waiting for the elevator…

Ceremony music provided by the very entertaining Harbor Light Choir.

Eric’s longtime friend officiated the ceremony.

Did I mention Michele has impeccable style?

The groom’s cake depicts their road trip to Marfa, Texas, where they fell in love.

Don’t forget to watch the slideshow!
Thanks for an amazing time, Michele and Eric!

Courtney and Drew’s Wedding
Posted on May 15, 2010
Courtney and Drew are an incredibly fun couple who I’ve had a great time getting know. I remember having dinner with them (at the original Ninfas) after their engagement session and thinking, “I really like these guys!”
I was really looking forward to their wedding, and I had a lot of fun! This was my second wedding in a row at St. Lukes, and after their beautiful ceremony the fine folks at The Houstonian made sure the reception went smoothly. And, of course, any time you have Damon from PRP Entertainment as the MC you know it’s going to be a great party! This was also my second week in a row to have Gary Guy along for the ride, which is always great! Here are some of my faves from the day.

Courtney’s dad gave an extremely touching and heart-felt toast.

This is Damon getting Drew’s mom to work it out on the dance floor

And the slideshow!!!
Congratulations Drew and Courtney!

Lindsay and Dustin’s Wedding
Posted on May 14, 2010
Lindsay and Dustin were married at St. Luke’s United Methodist church, and held their reception at the Crystal ballroom. They were a really great couple to work with, and their family, bridal party, friends, etc. were all a blast! Kristin Cogan did a fabulous job putting together and running the event, as usual, and many thanks to Gary Guy for second-shooting with me and getting some great shots!
Starting things off at Hotel Icon…

Then off to St. Lukes!

Finally, off to the Rice Lofts and the Crystal Ballroom where Jamie and her staff made sure everything went great!

Don’t forget to watch the slideshow!!!
Thanks for having me a part of your wedding, Lindsay and Dustin! It was an honor.

Ashley and Paul’s Groomals
Posted on April 23, 2010
What’s a Groomal you ask? It’s kind of like a bridal portrait, but throw in a groom for good measure. Groomal.
Ashley and Paul are simply one of my favorite couples ever. They booked me for their wedding over a year out, and ever since we took their engagements waaaay back in 2008, I knew they were going to be a blast to work with. Their wedding at Holy Rosary/Hotel Derek last November was killer, and when we finally got around to taking their groomals (after getting rained out 3 times) a few weeks ago, they did not disappoint. Anyway, here are some of my favorite images from the session. Please leave a comment if you like what you see!
We started off at Hotel Derek. (Thank you Stacy for hooking us up!)

This one is going on the first page of their wedding album. Cuz’ they’re cool like that.

Then we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and finished up at Uptown Park.

Love love love this last one (bottom right)! Paul says it makes them look cooler than they actually are. I said maybe you guys just are that cool!

Thank you Ashley and Paul for being such awesome clients!
