Lauren’s Bridals
Posted on August 27, 2007
Lauren is one of the coolest brides. She told me she wanted something “different” and kind of edgy and urban like her engagement portraits were (which I haven’t posted yet, but will soon). So we shot in downtown Houston and got some awesome images that I think really capture her personality. This is one of those shoots that people will look at and say, “Wow. That’s cool, but I don’t think I could pull it off.” Well Lauren did, and we had a great time!

Our New Digs
Posted on August 22, 2007
I finally got a chance to take some pictures of my new place. Three weeks ago we moved into a loft in the warehouse district of downtown, and 3 blocks from Minute Maid Park. The building was a warehouse/distribution center for Herrin Inc., built in 1923. So far we’re really lovin’ it. Check out the pictures below.

Krista and Cody’s Wedding
Posted on August 19, 2007
A few weeks ago I shot Krista and Cody’s beautiful wedding at the gorgeous Ashton Gardens (Stephanie did a great coordinating over there). My good friend and colleague Clint Shuttlesworth backed me up, and we got some great images! I promised Krista I would get something up on my blog for her to look at while I sorted through the rest, and I had a hard time narrowing it down! We shot for 11 hours that day, and came back with over 3600 images. Here are a handful (ok, more than a handful) of some of my favorites. There were so many that I left I out I think I may have to do a Part II on the blog, so check back!
Since there are so many I made the thumbnails kind of small– click on any image to make it larger.

Laurie and Derrick’s Big Day
Posted on August 10, 2007
This has to have been one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to. Shooting or not. Laurie and Derrick are a BLAST to work with, and they have so much personality. Let’s see…. Derrick wore a slick pair of black Jordans and Laurie’s dress was perfect. Laurie doesn’t like frosting, so instead of eating their cake after cutting it, they ate unfrosted yellow cupcakes! (which Derrick smashed in her face, of course.) Derrick’s cake was a larger-than-life replica of another pair of his favorite Jordans. The live country band made sure everyone had a good time, and during the “grand march” all 500+ people were on the dance floor in a coordinated dance unlike anything I’ve ever seen before! There was also the “Great Beer Pyramid” (see below) which was built over the course of the night, and I don’t think anyone will forget the groomsman who snuck into the limo to moon Laurie when she opened the door (especially because I got a picture)!
Needless to say, there is no way I could put enough pictures on my blog for you to understand what this wedding was like, so here are a few of my favorites (minus the mooning shots).

Stephanie and Mark
Posted on August 9, 2007
I have become a horrible blogger. But don’t worry, I have some more photos for you, and some other stuff in the pipe.
A little while ago I took Mark and Stephanie’s engagement portraits, and we had an awesome time. After the shoot we went to the Original Ninfa’s on Navigation St. for some awesome tex-mex and margaritas. They are such a cool couple and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in November.
