Oh yeah, we’re pregnant.

Kacie and I are having a baby! We’re due mid-august, and are really excited! She’s at 12 weeks now. Here’s the sonogram from 9.5 weeks. Apparently it’s the size of a plum right now, and next week will be the size of a peach. But I still call it my little blueberry, because that’s the first fruit reference Kacie used, and for some reason it stuck
For those of you not familiar with reading sonograms, the baby has been appropriately labeled.
He’s a cute little tax-write-off, isn’t he

Laura and Ritch’s Engagements
Posted on January 21, 2009
I’m really excited about this session! Laura and Ritch booked me a couple weeks ago for a valentines day wedding, so we had to do their engagement session FAST! They were really fun to shoot with, and were great sports because it was quite chilly that day, and I kept making them take off their jackets! I love the shots we got, and I just designed a really sweet engagement/guest book for their wedding. We started off downtown at Discovery Green, then finished up in midtown.
Did I mention it was COLD???
First i made them take off their jackets. Then lay on the freezing concrete. Then I had blake block out the sun with the reflector. Yeah, I’m cruel ![]()
Love this!
I love parking garages!!!
Did I mention I love parking garages???
Finally we stopped by coco’s in midtown for some coffee to warm up!
Thanks Laura and Ritch for an awesome shoot! I am really excited about your wedding coming up!

Fire Twirler!
Posted on January 20, 2009
I shot a pretty cool Christmas party back in December, and the best part was the boyfriend of the daughter in the family– he’s a fire twirler. So he put on a couple performances throughout the night. It was sweet! I may just be inspired enough to try it myself
Blake had the idea of using flaming D3’s at the end of each chain. I agree that would be much more dramatic
Anyway, here’s a couple shots I got:

Piano Man and Pantless Men
Posted on January 18, 2009
Play the Piano Man youtube video while you read this post:
I love this song, and apparently so do a lot of others. What better way to enjoy it than singing along with your frat brothers with your pants around your ankles?
This is from Casie and David’s wedding, which I shot tonight. I just had to post this.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Goofin’ off in the front yard
Posted on January 15, 2009
So Danny had an idea involving a small training trampoline and an old mattress, and in no time almost a dozen photographers are in my front yard goofin’ off, jumping around, and taking pictures. Like all responsible adults do at 3pm on a workday.
Danny, the only trained gymnast among us.
Brooke twittering, probably.

Clint was just getting up from sitting down, but it looks like he’s doing a crazy dance move!

Joe Cogliandro ladies and gentleman.
That one’s me.
Akil playing with the cable release.
The dogs wanted to know what the excitement was all about, so Kacie took them on the trampoline. They don’t look too excited.
All of the aforementioned responsible adults: Me, Danny, Clint, Brooke, Akil, Blake, Kacie, Gary, and Joe.
I call this one “Falling”.
Thanks everyone for hanging out! Post links to your shots in the comments!
I have to add that no D3’s were harmed in the making of these images, although mine might have feared for it’s life a little…

Lindsey and Hooman’s Wedding Part 2
Posted on January 11, 2009
WARNING: THIS IS A HUGE POST. Get that scrolling finger warmed up.
Picking up where I left off, after the Persian wedding on Friday, the celebration continued with a traditional American Ceremony and Reception at River Oaks Country Club on Saturday. This was certainly the most amazing wedding I’ve ever shot. It was planned and coordinated by the wonderful Kristen White with Belle of the Ball, and Rob, with Events in Bloom, did a bang-up job on the flowers and decor, as usual.
It was such a large event that we had 3 photographers to cover everything, and we ended up with a TON of incredible images, which is why this post is so long. So much thought went in to every little detail, from the food to the cake to the man hand-rolling cigars. The details are what made this wedding even more special. I tried to select photos that would convey the awesomeness of the wedding, but to be extra sure, make sure you watch their double-length SLIDESHOW.
Lindsey was the smilingest Bride I’ve ever met ![]()
GORGEOUS!!!
Now THAT’S a cake. Those are hundreds of hand made sugar roses that took weeks to prepare.
LOVE this shot.
And this one’s not bad either
Hooman’s on the right.
So sweet.
Love it!
Aerial view!
That’s a big leaf.
Thanks, Lindsey and Hooman, for inviting me to be a part of your awesome wedding!

Lindsey and Hooman’s Wedding Part 1
Posted on January 11, 2009
Lindsey and Hooman’s fabulous wedding was split into 2 parts. A traditional Persian ceremony and celebration on Friday, and a traditional American ceremony and reception on Saturday.
The Friday night wedding was an amazing event held at Hooman’s parents’ home. The people were fun, the food was excellent, the ceremony was beautiful, and the rich colors and textures of traditional persian food, garments, and decorations were incredible. It was such a great night. Below are a handful of pictures from the evening, and be sure to check out the SLIDESHOW.
More pictures from the next day are coming soon!
