Brooke and Tony’s Engagements – Houston, TX
Posted on November 28, 2009
Brooke and Tony are friends from a small group Kacie and I lead at our church. When they met with me and told me the vision ehind their hill-country wedding next Spring, I was STOKED. Brooke has some really creative and unique ideas for their wedding that are going to make it very unique and personal. I can’t wait to shoot it! We tok their engagement portraits in and around the downtown area, and I have to say I was surprised by these two! They had so much fun in front of the camera, and they were so into each other that it really made for a fun shoot. Their personalities really show through! Anyway, I had a hard time narrowing it down, but here are some of my faves:

I told them to make out, and this is what happened. True story.

Love this!

Anna’s Bridals
Posted on November 18, 2009
This is the first outdoor bridal shoot I’ve done in a while! It has been so hot over the summer that we’ve mostly been shooting indoors, but the weather for Anna’s shoot at Lakeside Country Club was beautiful, and she looked stunning! Here are a few of my favorites.

Thanks for being gorgeous, Anna! Great shoot!

Jennifer and Chad’s Wedding
Posted on November 6, 2009
Remember that ridiculously-in-love couple I told you about? Well, they got married– and it was a ridiculously-beautiful wedding.
Jennifer and Chad were married at my home church, Grace Bible Church, in the Heights and then held their reception at Rockefeller Hall. They are really an amazing couple, and I look forward to seeing the awesome things they’ll accomplish together! After the reception we took some portraits of just the two of them on the bayou near downtown. I always recommend scheduling time like this on your wedding day to get great portraits as a newly married couple! Anyway, here are some of my favorites from the day!

My faveĀ :)

Margaret and Brad’s Engagements
Posted on November 5, 2009
We took Margaret and Brad’s engagement photos at Margaret’s family’s horse ranch an hour north of Dallas. The ranch is a very special place to them and their family. Margaret and Brad actually met at the ranch during a big weekend gathering with friends! Here are a few images from the shoot!

You should have seen how excited Margaret’s dad was when we took these pictures! They were watching us shoot from the house, and apparently he was really hoping we’d take some on the swingset

Riding around on the Gator is one of their favorite pastimes at the ranch.

I love these hay-bale shots. If you know me, you don’t have to twist my arm to get me to climb up on something

Thanks for a great shoot, guys!

Minou and Josh’s Wedding — Houston Country Club
Posted on November 2, 2009
I had an incredible time with Minou and Josh on their wedding day! Minou grew up next door to another one of my clients, Hooman (of Lindsey and Hooman), and she was at their wedding last November. When she approached me and asked if I would shoot her Persian wedding, I said HECK YEAH! The cool thing was, though, Josh is Jewish, so they had a beautiful wedding that incorporated both Jewish and Persian ceremonies. Add to that some great Persian music and both persian and jewish traditions on the dance floor, and it was a heck of a good time!
Minou and Josh held their wedding and reception at the Houston Country Club, where their planner, Kristin Cogan (of Keely Thorne Events), made sure everything went perfectly. Anyway– here are a few of my favorites from the day. Feel free to leave some comment lovin’!

Instead of a bridal party they had 9 flower girls and 2 ring-bearers! As you might imagine, many of their pictures ended up looking this this…

Minou had the most blingiest shoots I have ever seen. They were awesome!

Minou’s proud father.

Josh and his parents preparing to enter the ceremony.

Love love love!

The ballroom was GORGEOUS! Flowers by River Oaks Plant House.

Is this not the most AMAZING cake you’ve ever seen??? Who made the cake? The answer is: Yes.

Look at the detail. All hand-made sugar-flowers. Just take my word for it. It was delicious.

Josh is an expressive guy
