LaShambra and Daniel
Posted on January 29, 2010
LaShambra and Daniel are a great couple who were super fun to work with! They wanted their engagement portraits taken at Paraiso Maravilla, which is a place I’ve taken bridals at many times, but never engagements. It was lots of fun. You shoot a location different when you have two subjects instead of 1, so I really enjoyed the change of pace. I was really impressed with the modeling ability of these two, and they look incredible in the photographs. I can’t wait for LaShambra’s bridals, and then the wedding. As always, here are a few of my faves. Enjoy!

Workshop, anyone?
Posted on January 26, 2010
So I have to say that I’m hesitant to jump on the start-a-workshop bandwagon, because it seems to me like the ultimate way to sell-out, but the truth is I know a lot of people who want to learn more about photography. And I love to teach. And I have a few free weekends in April. So what else could I do but offer a workshop?
Seriously though, I get a lot of questions about photography, and unfortunately I don’t have time to answer everyone’s questions individually. I’m going to give this workshop thing a shot and see how it works out. This could be a one-time only deal, or it could happen again. It all depends. I’m planning on offering both a beginner and intermediate workshop on two separate weekends in April. I’m thinking very small classes (10 people) and an all day (8 hour) workshop that will cover a variety of topics, and most importantly, get us out there shooting.
This post is a feeler to see how many are interested. If you are interested, please take about 10 seconds to answer a couple questions below. I should be announcing something official in the next couple weeks, so check back often if you’ll want to sign up.
If you have more thoughts or ideas to add you can just leave a comment below. Thanks!!!

Courtney and Tyler’s Wedding
Posted on January 26, 2010
Courtney and Tyler were married at Westminster Methodist and held there reception at the Courtyard at St. James Place. It was my first time to work with the fabulous Angela Nix, who was their planner, and she made sure everything went perfectly! I knew from the moment I first met Courtney and Tyler (and their great families) that their wedding was going to be a blast, and they didn’t disappoint! Below are a few of my favorites from their wedding. Leave a comment if you like what you see, and don’t forget to watch their slideshow at the very bottom!
This cool old church-oven was just begging to be in a picture…

The very talented J.J. Worthen is an old friend of Courtney’s, and provided the music for the ceremony.

Hurray for cool old cars! Kyle grabbed this one while hanging out the window on the way to the reception.

MORE COWBELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll give you one guess what’s going on here…

I love it when the bridal party has a choreographed dance planned!

For party favors, Courtney and Tyler handed out all kinds of cool light-up goodies.

Julie’s Bridals – Paraiso Maravilla – Houston, TX
Posted on January 19, 2010
We took Julie’s bridals at the always-beautiful Paraiso Maravilla. She looked gorgeous and was great to work with! Here are some of my faves.

I’ve been shooting at PM a lot lately, so I’m trying to change things up a little bit. I love the harsh-lighting in this shot, but it takes a bride like Julie to pull off.

I really love this next set.

Love her expression!

Thanks for a great shoot, Julie! I can’t wait until your and Stephen’s wedding!
