Marisa and Chris’ Engagements
Posted on June 28, 2010
I was super excited to photograph this couple! Chris (Fig) is one of my best friends, and ever since Marisa entered the picture she has fit in to our little group so well. I am really, really happy for them and really looking forward to their wedding in October (which I will NOT be shooting!). Enjoy a few of my favorites from their engagement session.
Starting things off with a cup o’ joe at Catalina Coffee.

Hooray for random walls!

And un-mowed patches of weeds!

And thanks to one of my other best friends, Clint, for letting us shoot in/around his studio!

Love this last image.

Thanks for being a great couple and great friends, Fig and Marisa!

Michele and Eric’s Wedding
Posted on June 25, 2010
I had the honor of shooting Michele and Eric’s beautiful wedding at Hotel Icon back in May. Michele has an amazing sense of style, and her planner, Keely Thorne, made sure everything came together perfectly. Michele and Eric’s personalities really showed in all the details! Below are a few of my favorites from the day!

I love these whimsical hats that the bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids wore!

Meet Eric, who hates getting his picture taken, but I think he’s looking pretty suave, don’t you?

Their “first look”.

Waiting for the elevator…

Ceremony music provided by the very entertaining Harbor Light Choir.

Eric’s longtime friend officiated the ceremony.

Did I mention Michele has impeccable style?

The groom’s cake depicts their road trip to Marfa, Texas, where they fell in love.

Don’t forget to watch the slideshow!
Thanks for an amazing time, Michele and Eric!

Chicago After a Storm
Posted on June 23, 2010
Kacie, Caden and I are enjoying a little R&R in downtown Chicago before heading up to Wisconsin for a family reunion. Tonight a pretty serious storm rolled through and even threw down a tornado just outside downtown. After the storm subsided a little, the setting sun peeked through and cast a hint of orange to the green sky, creating a very eerie and dramatic backdrop for Chicago’s skyline. I snapped these images on my way to pick up chinese take-out. Enjoy!

After the sun set, the twilight sky was still amazing.

Mahsa’s Bridal Portraits – Crystal Ballroom
Posted on June 16, 2010
Mahsa is a fabulous bride, and the friend of two of my other fabulous clients (Lindsey and Hooman, and Minou and Josh). After the killer engagment session I did with Mahsa and Mehran at the rodeo carnival, I knew I was going to have a blast shooting her bridals. And I was right.
Mahsa definitely knew how to work it for the camera! Here are a few of my favorites from the session.’
Really like this one on the right…

Bird cage veil for the win!

After Megan and Travis’ killer engagement session, I’ve really been looking forward to her bridal portraits. She looked totally gorgeous, and was very natural in front of the camera. Of course those amazing eyes don’t hurt, either!

My favorite!
