Sarah and Jeff’s Engagements – The Heights – Houston Engagement Photography

FROM SARAH AND JEFF

Q. Where did you meet?
A. We met on New Year’s Eve, 2006, at a party at the house of a friend of a mutual friend. Sarah was home for Christmas from studying in Spain. Sarah went back to Spain, and we didn’t really keep in touch except for a few messages. 4 years later, we were both back in Houston, and we reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding. The rest is history!

Q. What was your first impression of him?
A. I thought he was confident and charming. We hit it off immediately!

Q. What was your first impression of her?
A. I thought she was so pretty that I jumped up out of my seat before she got all the way up the driveway because I knew I had to talk to her!

Q. What did you do for your first date?
A. We saw “The Tourist” and had sushi at Tokyo Bowl in Clear Lake.

Q. When did you know he was the one?
A. I had an idea when I left to go back to North Carolina (where I’m in graduate school) after the Christmas break when Jeff and I reconnected. He said we could figure out the distance and we immediately planned trips to visit each other. I knew for sure when I came home that summer to work and we got to have a “normal” life together.

Q. When did you know she was the one?
A. Sometime during the summer she was back in Texas, I knew she was the one.

Q. How did he pop the question?
A. We went to visit Jeff’s friends in Dixon, California. We went to Napa Valley with them for the day, and after lunch we went to Sterling Winery. He proposed (in Spanish!) on the gondola on the way up to the winery! We spent the day drinking more wine to celebrate!

Q. What do you love the most about him?
A. Top 5: How much he makes me laugh, his confidence, he intelligence, his adventurous spirit, his giving heart.

Q. What do you love the most about her?
A. She gives more than she takes, and she knows how ridiculous I am and she still loves me.

Q. Does he have any funny quirks?
A. He has an unusually deep belly button and always gets LOTS of lint in it.

Q. Does she have any funny quirks?
A. She is really bad at hiding her facial expressions, so it’s easy to tell what she’s thinking. 🙂

Q. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced together?
A. The distance has been the biggest challenge we have faced together, but we just work through it with lots of communication and plane tickets. We’ve also gotten to take some awesome road trips because of it!

Q. What’s the secret to your happy relationship?
A. Great communication and listening skills, and an equally great sense of humor.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to share? 🙂
A. We are so excited to have Adam as our photographer and we can’t wait for the wedding!
