Brooke and Austin’s Engagements – Discovery Green
Q. Where did you meet?
A. The Cy-Falls athletic training room. I was an athletic trainer and Austin was a football player. Austin was a senior and I was a junior.
Q. What was your first impression of him?
A. That his muscles were huge and he was really sweet. 🙂
Q. What was your first impression of her?
A. That she was beautiful. I wanted to find a way to get to know her better.
Q. What did you do for your first date?
A. We ate mexican food (Brooke’s favorite!) and went to watch Stranger Than Fiction at the movies.
Q. When did you know he was the one?
A. I knew Austin was the one when we broke up my freshman year of college and I figured out my life was not near as fun without him in it. I actually woke up one morning in Daytona Beach, Florida and knew he was the one who I was going to spend the rest of my life with…so I called him up and the rest is history.
Q. When did you know she was the one?
A. When she wanted to get back together with me and I could not say no.
Q. How did he pop the question?
A. I was on vacation in Aruba with my Dad and Brother and a bunch of close family friends. Austin was supposed to be at home watching my dogs. We had a big brunch that I was told was for my brothers birthday. When we got there everyone set down and in walked Austin. It was the best surprise ever!!! After I SAID YES, the first question I asked him was who was watching my puppies. You see who runs the show in our family!!
Q. What do you love the most about him?
A. The love he has for me and for my family. Also I love how accepting he is of me no matter what the situation is.
Q. What do you love the most about her?
A. That she is my best friend. She gets me in a way no one else does.
Q. Does he have any funny quirks?
A. He really likes video games but I think most men do 😉
Q. Does she have any funny quirks?
A. She has more pictures of her dog then she has of me.
Q. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced together?
A. My mom dying in January very suddenly. It tested our relationship in every way in possibly could. Death either tears people apart or brings them together and in this case it brought us so much closer. Very quickly it should us that no one is promised tomorrow and we had to live and love like today is our last day. Austin was also there for me as well as my family in more ways that I could have ever asked him to be.
Q. What’s the secret to your happy relationship?
A. Humor, we like to joke and laugh a lot. We also understand and accept each others flaws and differences. This has helped us develop our relationship into something stronger then it ever was in the beginning and will continue to do so in the future.
Q. Is there anything else you would like to share? 🙂
A. We are so excited to have Adam fly with us to the Dominican Republic and share this very special day with us!

I have known Brooke since she was 16. Watching Brooke and Austin grow as a couple through thick and thin could only make your heart tender. It will be an honor to share my last name with her in November. And I love you too son!
