Joy and Michael’s Wedding – The Houstonian
FROM JOY AND MICHAEL
Q. What was your favorite memory of the day? Joy:
A. It’s hard to settle on just one! I loved the excitement walking into the ceremony and meeting eyes with Michael for the very first time… in my dress, as a bride, with 300 guests there to celebrate with us.
Q. What was your favorite memory of the day? Michael:
A. Standing under the chuppah seeing my wife for the first time – all day – in her wedding gown walking down the aisle.
Q. What was your favorite detail? Joy:
A. The white/ivory/light pink theme of the wedding. It felt so romantic and elegant.
Q. What was your favorite detail? Michael:
A. The whole room in white with hues of pink and lavendar lighting… felt like being on a cloud.
Q. Do you have any advice for future brides and grooms on the big day? Joy:
A. As much as you can, forget about the details when it comes down to the night of the wedding and allow yourself to take in all of the happiness of your big day. There’s no other time in your life when you have hundreds of people gathered in one space to celebrate you – and it’s an amazing feeling.
Q. Do you have any advice for future brides and grooms on the big day? Michael:
A. The night goes by extremely fast. Remember to stop, take a breath, look around and realize that everyone in that room is there for you. Cherish the memory while you’re in the moment!
Q. Funniest moment from your wedding day? Joy:
A. Seeing my mom being raised in a chair during the Horah dance! My mom had a look of complete fright!
Q. Funniest moment from your wedding day? Michael:
A. Wasn’t funny at the time, but when I put on my brand knew tux shoes that were still in the box, I opened the box and realized there were two right shoes. I thought it was a terrible joke. With just two hours before the ceremony, I didn’t have much time to fix the situation. Luckily, one of the groomsmen offered me his shoes – and they just so happened to fit – while he borrowed a plain black pair of shoes from a friend. Phew!
Q. Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Joy:
A. Not at all. It was the absolute best night of our lives and done with the utmost detail!
Q. Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Michael:
A. Not one thing.
Q. What was your favorite purchase for the big day? Joy:
A. My dress!
Q. What was your favorite purchase for the big day? Michael:
A. My custom tuxedo.
Q. Where did you go on your honeymoon?
A. We went on a minimoon to Sedona and Scottsdale and then went to Thailand for our honeymoon in December.
Q. Who was the florist?
A. Mark Miller, Stems
Q. Who made the cake?
A. Susie’s Cakes
Q. Who did your hair and make up?
A. Hair: Elia with Bella Rinova; Makeup: Sari Motley

A. Band: The Pictures – with a special appearance from my (Joy) Dad singing Frank Sinatra’s “You’re Lovely!”
